Default Seperate res sig from skill bar?

Since the skill is the same with every class and there's people who don't like having a slot wasted equipping it, I'm wondering how we'd feel with the idea of giving it a separate slot independent from all class builds?

If they don't want to waste a slot equipping it, then they should have to do without it.

Not a bad idea actually. Would free some stuff up. As long it was only res sig, as in not a res skill (sunspear rebirth sig included). If it proves troublesome then it can always be undone.

Been suggested before. /notsigned for balance purposes in PvP

If you NEED this in PvE, it already exists... sorta

might as well. I mean I don't really think its necessary with rez scrolls but its not like any negative effects would result from this.

That's exactly what I was looking at.

Now as far as the pvp unbalancing goes, exactly what way are we looking at here if all classes have their full 8 available? Btw, aren't we complaining they're all unbalanced to begin with?

No, just no. The 8 skill bar is a basic core design of GW and if you want one of those skills to be a res then you limit your build to 7 to carry one, otherwise do without or carry res scrolls

Much as it would be nice, I have to say no.

So ele's shouldn't have to spend any slots for their attunements then and such and such. (Was being sarcastic there btw. )

GW is different from a lot of other similar gametypes in that it onlys allow you to bring eight skills at a time. I rather like it's difference and is one reason I still play it, even if you have to sac a skill here and there.

I would have liked this when the game had just come out and was still easily moldable, but the game has aged well and this would really throw the game off. Every skill in the game would have to be balanced to make true 8 skill no res builds as weak as 7 skill builds with a res signet. I dunno. I say no but what do I know for whats best for the game.

Having one extra skill in pvp would change A LOT. The Anet team will be rebalancing many things because of the fact that new builds will probably come out that work amazing to the point where it's considered unfair, etc.

So... It's a no for me.

I can think of quite a few negative effects this would have
maybe if pve only but then why bother w/ cons and shrines and UA running about

What about monks who don't use any res? They would be penalized because everyone would have basically 1 more skill, exept monks.

IMHO the decision to bring or not to bring the res sig (or any other res), sacrificing or not another skill is something fundamental when it comes to PvP. It's a tactical decision which people have to make, which is part of the game, the same tactical decision which stated that monks shouldn't have it, while all other players should.

Allowing everybody an extra skill on their bar would only make any balance problems worse.

The larger a skill bar is the less need to create a compressed and efficient bar. Just because PvP has many problems when it comes to balance, introducing a new problem doesn't help.

I like this idea, rez sig and ss res sig are one shot skills, their useful but once used they become useless and in areas say like fow when litle to no bosses you basically just loose a skill slot, ofc you could always bring a hard rez or rez scrolls yeah but thats not always possible you might be running say a ranger/warrior and have no access to hard rezzes and not be able to afford/no be far enough in eotn for a rez scroll.

I think it would have to be only a PvE addition and i seriously don't see it being added but none the less i like this idea.

No. Guild Wars was designed with 8 skills in mind. Res Sig is a strong skill. Skills belong on the 8 slot skill bar.
